TORONTO (October 21, 2014) As Toronto nears the finish line of one of the most documented mayoral races in the country's history, CityNews brings voters their final opportunity to hear from the city's three major mayoral candidates with CityVote 2014 The Final Showdown. The three-hour special, hosted by CityNews anchor Gord Martineau and featuring the three major candidates Olivia Chow, Doug Ford, and John Tory airs Thursday, Oct. 23 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET on City, CityNews.ca, the CityNews app, and 680News.com.

Moderated by CityNews anchor Melanie Ng, the candidates' final televised debate will centre around Toronto's traffic gridlock and transit system issues, putting Chow, Ford, and Tory in the hot seat when panelists Royson James (Toronto Star), Cynthia Mulligan (CityNews), and John Stall (680News) plus a crowd of undecided voters react live to the candidates' positions.

This is an opportunity to not only hear from the city's three major mayoral candidates one final time, but for the people of Toronto and the GTA to make their voices heard and have their questions answered, said Dave Budge, General Manager for CityNews, Rogers. Our multiplatform coverage of this crucial debate ensures that all of our viewers have the opportunity to get the information they need before casting their votes on October 27.
