Eventide & Newfangled Audio release Fixate:Midrange

Helps to deliver a clean, balanced midrange

Developed alongside Newfangled Audio, the latest plug-in in Eventide's software collection has been designed to tackle a common mix challenge: creating a clean-sounding midrange. Fixate:Midrange employs intelligent EQ processing that quickly identifies and tackles muddiness', and promises to deliver professional-sounding results with minimal effort.

Designed to get users up and running quickly, the plug-in is capable of analysing incoming audio and detecting problematic areas, and applies its processing dynamically in response to the input signal. It carries out its analysis across multiple frequency bands, evaluating resonances and imbalances which Eventide say can often go unnoticed with traditional analysers. The approach is said to deliver impressive results while leaving the overall character of the original audio unchanged.

There are some manual controls on offer, and Fixate:Midrange provides some visual feedback that highlight potential problem frequencies. Users are provided with a set of self-explanatory controls that make it possible to fine-tune the processing: Demud, Dethin, Dehonk, Denasal and Deharsh.

Compatibility Fixate:Midrange is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available. You'll need an iLok account for authorisation, although no USB dongle is required.

Pricing & Availability Fixate:Midrange is available now, and is currently (16 May 2026) being offered at an introductory price of $79, reduced from its full cost of $139.
