Vidispine Meets Arvato

If you have been following the news today, you may well have seen that our longstanding partner, Vidispine, has been acquired by Arvato Systems. Firstly, I would like to congratulate the Vidispine team. I have had the pleasure of working with them for a number of years and I know that this is the result of a lot of hard work and some great developments from them, which ultimately made Vidispine an extremely attractive proposition for Arvato.

As you may well know, Cantemo Portal utilises the Vidispine software for some of the backend media management and media processing, so I wanted to take a moment to explain what this means for us and our customers, as a longterm partner of Vidispine, and with having some partially overlapping solution offerings in common with Arvato Systems.

Having had meetings with both Vidispine and Arvato Systems in regards to the acquisition and also the future of Vidispine, Id like to reassure all our customers that for Cantemo, nothing will change. For Vidispine, it will be pretty much business as usual with no major changes to its strategy. You can read more about that over on the Vidispine blog.

When I heard the news myself, I was of course very anxious that we should ensure our relationship with Vidispine continues as is, so I was naturally very pleased to hear that both Vidispine and Arvato want the same thing.

We have been working with Cantemo for a very long time and have built up an extremely close relationship and an impressive customer base. We work together on roadmaps that make sense for both solutions and we look forward to continuing to work in that way.

Whilst, as I mentioned above, we do have some overlapping solution offerings with Arvato Systems, we are, for the most part, working in different sectors with different value propositions. For those areas where there is competition, we have agreed a fair competition approach, however for the most part, we see each other as partners.

We are truly excited to be adding Vidispine to our group. It has some really innovative technology that we see will benefit our portfolio. At the same time, a lot of its success is down to close partnerships with companies such as Cantemo. We therefore place a great deal of importance on ensuring that partner relationship continues post acquisition.
