TVBEurope is delighted to announce that IBC will be supporting next week's TVBAwards as sponsor of the drinks reception, which will open the night on 23 October. IBC is headed by CEO Michael Crimp and based in central London, where the team work year-round to deliver the annual IBC conference in Amsterdam. This is regarded as the premier annual event for professionals engaged in the creation, management and delivery of entertainment and news content worldwide. The event attracts attendees from 170-plus countries, and last month announced its most successful show ever, attracting a total of 55,092 attendees, which is an increase on 2013 of 4 per cent.
IBC confirmed last week its intentions to back TVBEurope's first awards event, and the drinks reception, at the Hilton London Wembley, will kick the night off in style. The TVBAwards will celebrate excellence in broadcast and by showing its support for the event IBC is, as ever, demonstrating its dedication to broadcast industry as a whole.
The inaugural TVBAwards, held by TVBEurope and TV Technology Europe, will present 13 awards across four categories; Workflow, Delivery, Capture and Special Awards. Tickets are still available for the event, which will offer a great chance to network with colleagues, enjoy a drinks reception on arrival, dinner, and after party, and discover which teams and companies will be the first TVBAward winners. Lifetime Achievement award winner Dr David Wood will be appearing at the event to collect the honour. As the former deputy technical director of the EBU and current chair of the World Broadcasting Union's technical committee Wood is a renowned figure in the industry with a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
