While citizens await the news about whether we will be watching someone new deliver the family meeting rules-and-regulations from now on, there are many possible contenders waiting to clutch the title: President of South Africa! The issue concerning Cyril Ramaphosa and the Farmgate scandal will take some time to accept so let us take a look at some of the challengers for the top position in the meantime. This editorial is purely for entertainment purposes so forget that the majority party leads, and instead let's go with some of the contestants who are simply making waves for making the right moves on our nation's dance floor!

The line-up for Cyril's job is explosive indeed Let's take Julius Malema of the EFF for an example. If Malema ever takes the podium and swears an oath to protect and serve will he be promising the entire nation to uphold justice or would it be just a handful of citizens, albeit a large one, whose cries will be heard?
At the end of his tenure . . . will we be singing Freddie Mercury's We are the Champions or will we be crying for our beloved country once again?

Next in the line-up is Herman Mashaba of ActionSA. Such an absolute priviledge to watch him change light-bulbs and sweep the streets for his media branding campaigns but is Mashaba up for the task of sweeping the entirety of South Africa clean regarding corruption and the nasty tender for friends private joke? Only time will tell with this challenger as we do know he is fond of jumping ship and organising his own party if he can't dance like he wants to.
Speaking of party, we have our third contender who is hot-on-the-heels of former colleague Mashaba: Mmusi Maimane. Mmm . . . handsome, young, suave and a man with all the right words to woo a nation right? Well Maimane wants citizens to believe he is creating a movement and is not keen on partying okay. That's if he gets his organisation's brand right first time . . . Just wondering how the relationship will end in four years and whether Mzansi will be belting out Whitney Houston's I will Always Love you to this adversary whose profile picture wins a swipe right on the ballots simply because he looks oh-so-good in a corporate suit!
Is Ramaphosa in it to win it? According to his last official statement regarding Phala Phala, Ramaphosa reiterated his statement to the independent panel: I have endeavoured, throughout my tenure as president, not only to abide by my oath but to set an example of respect for the Constitution, for its institutions, for due process and the law. I categorically deny that I have violated this oath in any way, and I similarly deny that I am guilty of any of the allegations made against me.

One last thing: Remember Ramaphosa ousted Zuma for corruption.
