Yinzhou Set up Sunday Culture Alliance

Residents order and the residential committee prepares the dishes for them and expert services as well. On January 18, Dong Xiuyan of the Xiaying Sub-District came to the culture center of the community. There were more than 10 volunteers on the square providing various services for the residents, such as sending spring couplets, books and offering healthcare services.

This Sunday, it's volunteer activity. Last week it was theatrical performance. And the week before last, we had lectures by experts , said Dong Xiuyan, who comes to the square every Sunday.

On November 30, 2014, Yinzhou started the pilot work of organizing Sunday Culture Festivals in Xiaying. It takes the pattern of ordering by residents, cultural activities and public services put on in set time and places. So far, the culture festival has been held for 10 times, having engaged 3500 people. Not only amateurs have a chance to perform, but professionals have also joined in. Ningbo Volunteer Service Caravan have also set up their headquarters in Xiaying Culture Center. The previously lonely culture center has become a popular place, with Wechat followers increasing by about 1000.

The leaders of the CPC Ningbo Committee and the Ningbo Municipality recently gave the instructions that the Yinzhou experience be popularized.

An on-site meeting was held at Xiaying to promote the Sunday Cultural Activity. Some 20 departments and 23 townships of the district jointly set up a Sunday Culture Alliance. It is learned that this is the first time ever in Zhejiang.

According to the plan, during the first half year of 2015, Sunday Culture Activity shall be carried out in 11 townships and sub-districts of Yinzhou and in the second half of the year, it will be held across the Yinzhou District.

Each township and sub-district shall designate cultural halls, sports and culture centers and parks as the fixed venues for the activity. Each year, 50 3+X activities shall be held, namely, Sunday Art Show, Sunday Lecture, Sunday Volunteer Service, plus optional program .

According to the leader of the publicity department of Yinzhou, Sunday Culture Festival is more than a cultural activity. Yinzhou needs to mobilize cultural service resources in the grass-roots level to forge socialist core values and spread the mainstream values.
