DOLIVAR Captures Weddings with Blackmagic Design Cameras

Studio shoots 10 weddings per month, including recent wedding of influencers Marcella Bragan a and Emmanuel Caxito.

Blackmagic Design today announced that DOLIVAR, a Brazilian production company specializing in wedding photography and videography, uses Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K digital film cameras to shoot more than ten weddings per month. With such a busy schedule, the team also relies on DaVinci Resolve Studio editing, grading, visual effects (VFX) and audio post production software, reducing their post production time on projects by 75 percent.

Just recently, DOLIVAR shot the wedding of Brazilian influencers Marcella Bragan a and Emmanuel Caxito, whose combined audience exceeds 8 million followers across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Their wedding wasn't just an event; it was a creative journey that demanded a production style as dynamic and unique as the couple themselves, Dolivar said.

In the pre wedding shoot, DOLIVAR relied on a Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro and Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, shooting in Blackmagic RAW, to capture the essence of the couple's vibrant personality against Brazil's iconic skyline, famous for its modernist architecture, bold lines, and striking aesthetics.

It was important that the footage expressed all the joy they felt that day, Dolivar explained. The Pocket Cinema Cameras allowed us to capture rich detail and the colors just like they looked in person thanks to the excellent dynamic range.

He continued, The wedding day itself was filled with meaningful moments. Our approach focused on cinematic storytelling, with the Pocket Cinema Cameras capturing everything from the bride's preparations to the heartfelt vows and the lively reception. Because of the cameras' small form factors, we were able to get close to the couple and guests without making them feel uncomfortable. Plus, the cameras performed incredibly well no matter the lighting conditions. Whether filming in Bras lia's bright outdoor settings or the ambient lighting of an indoor ceremony, the cameras consistently delivered stunning visuals.

In post production, DOLIVAR leaned heavily on DaVinci Resolve Studio. The integration of editing, color grading, visual effects, and audio into one comprehensive platform is huge, said Dolivar. Because we shoot in Blackmagic RAW we have complete flexibility of the footage when we head to post. Some of my favorite features include the Color Warper, which provides precise control over tone and saturation adjustments, crucial to conveying emotions, and the Fairlight audio page, which makes audio adjustments faster and more intuitive. This integration allows us to save time while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Dolivar also noted that before incorporating DaVinci Resolve Studio into the workflow, editing a standard project would take an average of 30 days. Today, they are able to deliver to clients in just seven days.

By relying on Blackmagic Design, capturing and finishing Marcella and Emmanuel's wedding was a breeze. The final result received overwhelming praise from the couple and their millions of followers for the cinematic style and emotional depth captured in their wedding film.
