GSMA Announces Speakers for Mobile 60 Series - West Africa

C te d'Ivoire Programme Features Executives from Organisations including

London: The GSMA today announced the first speakers for the 2017 Mobile 360 Series - West Africa conference, which will take place 27 April at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Abidjan Airport in Abidjan, C te d'Ivoire. Additionally, MTN has been confirmed as Platinum Sponsor for the event and Huawei is the Global Industry Supporter for the full Mobile 360 Series of conferences taking place throughout 2017.

The mobile industry is playing a key role in driving digital, financial and social inclusion in many African countries by providing access to essential information and services, said Michael O'Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA. We are excited to be bringing the Mobile 360 Series to West Africa, convening key stakeholders to examine the practical steps needed to overcome critical roadblocks in technology, governance, business models and investment.

Mobile 360 - West Africa is an invite-only leadership forum, bringing together senior policymakers and executive-level industry representatives from across West Africa. At the event, attendees will discuss what is needed to enhance digital transformation in the region in a way that is sustainable for business, government and society. The event will convene local and international policy, regulatory and mobile industry leaders to discuss how to harness the power of mobile technologies for the digital transformation and sustainable development of the region. Discussions will address how MNOs can collaborate with public and private stakeholders to deliver social impact and drive growth. The conference will tackle different aspects of mobile empowerment, with sessions such as Mobile as the Foundation for Digital Transformation in West Africa'; Building an Environment Conducive to Expanding Mobile Broadband Connectivity'; Stimulating the Development of Scalable, Life-enhancing Services'; and Fostering Growth, Inclusion and Innovation'. In addition to the conference, Mobile 360 - West Africa will highlight the initiatives and activities undertaken by the GSMA Mobile for Development programme.
