Guardians of the Galaxy 2 to be shot on RED Digital Cinemas 8K Weapon --

RED Digital Cinema announced that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be the first production shooting on Weapon outfitted with the ground-breaking 8K Red Dragon sensor.
Weapon 8K captures 8K at 75 frames per second (fps), 6K at 100 fps, or 4K at 150 fps with Redcode Raw; and its range produces images rich with natural colour. Additionally, Weapon 8K features interchangeable lens mounts, a OLPF system, and in- camera 3D-LUT outputs.
RED offers a sensor upgrade path from Weapon 6K to Weapon 8K without having to buy a whole new camera to get the larger sensor. Weapon uses the DSMC2 line of accessories compatible with both RED Raven and Scarlet-W cameras giving shooters the option to move between camera systems without having to purchase all new gear.
