VDS Certifies Pixel Power Graphics and Playout Systems for Soapbox Social Media Gateway
Providing Broadcasters with Cost Effective Turnkey System for Social Media Engagement and On-Air Delivery New York, NY, November 13, 2013 - VDS, a leading developer of broadcast automation software, content design and plug-in products, announced today that it has integrated its Soapbox social media product with the graphics production and integrated playout systems from Pixel Power. The tested and VDS certified solution for broadcasters facilitates viewer interaction and retention by providing a range of affordable, high quality turnkey graphics playout systems that drive social media messages to air.
The collaboration between VDS and Pixel Power brings together two of the broadcast industrys most-favored providers to deliver a unique, complete, no compromises social media solution, said VDS President Larry Mincer. VDS certification is a stamp of approval that gives broadcasters the confidence to move forward with their social media plans and fully engage with audiences.
The system includes the VDS Soapbox Social Media Gateway and browser-based user interface, as well as a choice of Pixel Power systems including: Clarity graphics systems, Logovision automated branding devices, BrandMaster master control switchers and ChannelMaster integrated playout systems. The use of a high-quality broadcast graphics system in conjunction with Soapbox gives broadcasters creative flexibility and seamless integration of social media within broadcast workflows.
Soapbox makes connecting with viewers through Social Media easy and flexible. With Soapbox, broadcasters can easily curate and manage Social Media messages such as those from Twitter. Designed for use in live production environments, the user interface provides operators with instant access to Twitter messages from lists, messages that reference hash-tags, as well as user mentions. All of the messages are displayed within the Soapbox interface and can be quickly added to a display sequence or playlist. The Soapbox message editor makes filtering and cultivating of messages fast and simple, speeding the process of selecting and approving messages for air. Advanced search functions allow for the selection of messages using simple queries and selection/sorting tools.
Playlists can be taken to air immediately, or scheduled for future display. With the browser based user interface and underlying database, multiple curators can review and save approved Twitter messages including user avatars.
