Vitec Videocom Showcases Ground Breaking Products From Ncam. Artemis, and FoMa Systems at IBC

Amsterdam, NL: 12 September 2015 - Vitec Videocom, the Broadcast Division of the Vitec Group plc, is showcasing two ground breaking product lines from Ncam, FoMa Systems, and Artemis at IBC. The company currently holds exclusive worldwide distribution rights for both Ncam and FoMa.

Ncam Live 7D is a unique camera tracking solution that offers broadcast productions virtual and augmented graphic technology without limits. The device uses a lightweight sensor bar attached to a camera to track natural markers in the environment. This allows the camera to move freely at all times and in all locations, generating a continuous stream of extremely precise positional information that can feed all industry standard graphics engines. The Live 7D is incredibly flexible, allowing any camera rig to be outfitted with its sensor bar and has been successfully deployed on Spidercam for the popular Monday Night Football program in the United States.

For IBC, Ncam has announced their new Live PTZ product, which provides much of the same functionality, workflow and deployment speed for fixed position cameras at a competitive price. Unlike conventional PTZ solutions, the Live PTZ uses Ncam's novel core tracking technology, allowing the device to detect subtle movements of the camera itself and not the camera head.

Encoded systems are usually unable to track the subtle movements of platforms on a high tower, crane or cherry picker. This typically prevents the graphics from locking to the video, explained Nic Hatch, CEO of Ncam. The Ncam PTZ software will detect this motion and maintain alignment.

Vitec Videocom is also showcasing TRINITY, a brand new stabilizer from FoMa Systems and Artemis.

TRINITY is a fusion of traditional Steadicam and FoMa's Maxima gimbal technology that allows operators to introduce high-to-low mode transitions on a shot as well as a host of other visually stunning shots and shooting techniques that were not possible before.

The TRINITY's unique capability to stabilize roll while simultaneously allowing the camera to tilt independently of the post gives me total freedom to place and control the camera. It opens up so many creative possibilities, said Curt Schaller, operator and creator of Artemis.

The modular nature of the Artemis system allows owners of existing Artemis or GPI Pro products to upgrade easily, making the transition to TRINITY affordable for any professional operator.

The Ncam, FoMa, and Artemis products are currently on display at the Vitec Videocom booth 11.E55 at IBC.
