Link TV Premieres New Episodes of Ear Focus in November

San Francisco, Calif. - Nov. 15, 2013 - Link TV debuts two brand new episodes of Earth Focus, an environmental series that features investigative reports on how changes to the Earths resources and climate are affecting everyday people all over the world.

Asian Elephants - Sunday, November 17 at 9 p.m. PST / Monday, November 18 at 12:30 a.m.

In collaboration with The Ecologist Film Unit and Elephant Family, this episode of Earth Focus presents investigative reports on endangered Asian elephants. In Sumatra, Indonesia, only 2,500 Sumatran elephants remain, but as their last great forest habitat is being logged at a feverish pace to make way for palm oil plantations, elephants are pushed into conflict with local people. In Thailand and Myanmar, an illegal brutal trade in wild baby elephants is contributing to declining elephant populations. On the Thai-Myanmar border, at least 50-100 elephant calves and young females are removed from their forest homes every year and are traded illegally to supply tourist camps. Countless elephants die in the process, threatening the remaining populations of this endangered species. The episode repeats on Thursday, November 21 at 6 p.m. PST / 9 p.m. EST.

Faile Street - Human Cost of Foreclosure - Monday, November 25 at 7:30 p.m. PST / 10:30 p.m. EST

This episode takes a close look at the human cost of apartment foreclosure in New York, with a special presentation of Faile Street, a film by John Light and Elaisha Stoke. The apartment foreclosure crisis hurt millions of middle class Americans in the years after the Great Recession, but it also affected the urban real estate market. In New York, apartment foreclosures left thousands of mostly lower-income renters living in buildings that were stuck in limbo between former owners, the foreclosing bank, and the auction block. These tenants found their home environment deteriorating around them, and their health in serious jeopardy. Faile Street follows four tenants living in the Bronx borough of New York -- and the housing advocates they turn to for help -- as they struggle to keep their homes livable and their families safe. This episode repeats on Thursday, November 28 at 6 p.m. PST / 9 p.m. EST.
