Welcome to the Team: Tomomi Nishikubo

We're thrilled to welcome two-time Japanese trial bike champion Tomomi Nishikubo to the team.

Tomomi is known for laying down some truly gravity-defying trial bike tricks. He started riding competitively in 2004 and says he first picked up biking at the age of 12. He earned his back-to-back national trial bike championships in 2016 and 2017. And today, we're stoked to bring his expertise to the GoPro Team.

When asked about his current focus, Tomomi says he is looking to make epic videos about his sport that just make people happy.

I'm looking forward to making cool videos together [with GoPro], Tomomi says. Also, I can't wait to join some of the amazing events hosted by GoPro!

Teaming up with Tomomi to help him on this mission to create and share content really caught the eye of GoPro. And lucky for him, we have the perfect high-quality action camera to support the mission. His ideal camera set up from GoPro: HERO11 Black Mini set to record video at 4K 8:7 (an aspect ratio unique to our latest HERO11 cameras thanks to the new, larger sensor).

I always use [Mini] on my helmet to capture POV content, Tomomi says. If I go on some crazy line on my bike, I never forget to put [Mini] on my helmet. It's lighter and smaller than regular HERO11 Black. I feel like there is nothing on my helmet. This is why I like it.

As far as mounts, Tomomi says he always takes the Helmet Front + Side Mount and Chesty on production. He also is huge fan of the versatility of one of our newest mounts, Gumby, which uses two Nite Ize Gear Tie Rubber Twist Ties gear ties to allow infinite mounting. I always use [Gumby] to mount my GoPro on the trees or my bike, Tomomi shares.

And his biggest goal once the ink dries on his contract? Working with fellow GoPro bike athlete and Tomomi's self-proclaimed hero Danny Macaskill. We hope we can make that dream come true!
