MSE Master Mounts Take A 45 MPH Pounding with Ease

One of Matthews Studio Equipment's newest clients, Jeff Glucker, a specialist in the automotive industry, recently put MSE's MASTER MOUNTS to the ultimate challenge. He paired the mounts with his Canon 5D MkII, mounting them on the roof and the hood of the new 2014 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S, driving the back straight of a racetrack at speeds in excess of 145 mph.

Glucker, co-founder and Executive Editor of Hooniverse.com, the sight for dedicated car lovers, discovered MSE's Master Mount System about six months ago. I'd upgraded my camera equipment and was looking for something that would prove to be overkill for the Canon, because I didn't want it coming off the hood, trunk, or roof of a car as I blasted down the road, he says. I've affixed it to a wide range of vehicles, he explains. Everything from a Volkswagen Touareg TDI and Subaru Forester up to a Lamborghini Gallardo Squadre Corse and an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante. Those were fairly simple tests for the mount, however, and I needed to see if it was really up to a challenge.

Shooting the V12 Vantage S did the trick. When Glucker powered down from his 145 mph run, the Canon 5 was still sitting pretty and had captured great shots. After that, I have supreme confidence that this mount is up for any challenge I can throw at it, he concludes.
