Monday night's MLB Home Run Derby at Truist Park will turn the home of the Atlanta Braves to the league' personal launch pad for eight of the most electrifying home run hitters. This show is the crown jewel of ESPN's presence in the host city, but alongside this broadcast dedicated to the barrage of homers, studio shows like Baseball Tonight and The Pat McAfee Show are adding to the network's plate of responsibilities.
ESPN's Remote Operations Producer Carla Ackels, Remote Production Operations Manager Paul Horrell, and Remote Operations Specialists Kevin Cleary and Jon Winders walk us through the network's mobile unit layout in the compound, how this operations team is assisting the numerous studio shows, the tech toys on hand to highlight the MLB Home Run Derby, and how much ESPN's live event schedule at the Midsummer Classic has grown over the years.
