A WRAL / Capitol Broadcasting production will be streamed across the world. Moment of Truth will premiere on IMDb TV, Amazons premium free streaming service April 2. The Original true-crime docu-series tells the never-before-seen story behind the murder of James Jordan, father of NBA legend Michael Jordan.
The five-part series re-examines the crime that happened in Lumberton, North Carolina in 1993, following the story through the current day appeals of Daniel Green, who was convicted of killing James Jordan but has maintained his innocence for 27 years.
Moment of Truth also delves into the history of social injustice and law enforcement corruption in Robeson County, North Carolina, including Operation Tarnished Badge that resulted in the conviction of 22 deputies from the local sheriffs office in 2002.
CBC President & COO Jimmy Goodmon and CBC head of original programming for streaming, broadcast and podcast Shelly Leslie serve as executive producers alongside Matthew Perniciaro and Michael Sherman of Bow and Arrow Entertainment. Episodes 1-2 were co-directed and co-written by Perniciaro and WRAL-TV Documentary Producer Clay Johnson, while Perniciaro solely directed Episodes 3-5. Johnson serves as a producer on the series.
For the first time, the docu-series shares:
Archival footage from WRAL-TV/Capitol Broadcasting Company that has never been released for other productions or seen outside of North Carolina since 1996.
Critical court documents and evidence photos from the case.
Never-before-released trial audio, which was digitized from the original recordings.
All five episodes will premiere on Friday, April 2, streaming free exclusively on Amazons IMDb TV. Amazon Prime subscribers can also watch commercial free on Prime Video. The series will be available in 225-million homes across the world.
