Adem s de la NASAthe Universidad de Cambridge tambi n estar presente en la segunda edici n del Observatorio de la Realidad Virtual (OVR18), que tendr lugar el 18 y el 19 de julio en el Pole of digital contents of Malaga y en la que se debatir sobre el presente y futuro de la Realidad Virtual (VR, AR, MR, 360, eSports, Videojuegos, Serious Games )
As , dentro del panel de ponentes, que tendr como speaker de honor a Evelyn Miralles, la responsable del programa de Realidad Virtual de la NASA, hoy se da a conocer que la investigadora cordobesa Mar a P rez Ortiz, actualmente en la Universidad de Cambridge, ser otra de las estrellas del evento.
Mar a P rez Ortiz es investigadora postdoctoral la Universidad de Cambridge y el Hughes Hall College. Su campo de investigaci n principal es la Inteligencia Artificial, el Machine Learning (Aprendizaje Autom tico) y su impacto en la sociedad. Pero tambi n est desarrollando trabajos cient ficos relacionados con la Realidad Virtual, de los que hablar en el OVR18.
Entre sus logros cient ficos, esta joven investigadora andaluza, que ya ha sido galardonada por la Fundaci n BBVA, ha trabajado en un revolucionario sistema basado en la inteligencia artificial que ayuda a predecir la compatibilidad entre donantes y receptores de rganos.
La investigadora cordobesa contar en el Observatorio de Realidad Virtual 2018 (OVR18) su experiencia en primera persona como investigadora extranjera en el Reino Unido. Mar a dar a conocer el proyecto sobre aprendizaje autom tico en el que trabaja actualmente y que tiene como objetivo entender mejor la percepci n visual humana.
Seg n Mar a P rez Ortiz, las aplicaciones del aprendizaje autom tico en la Realidad Virtual son muchas. Si conseguimos crear un modelo de c mo el observador normal percibe el entorno (por ejemplo, el color) podemos representar mejor lo que ste ve y esto tendr un gran impacto en la simulaci n de entornos virtuales, haci ndolos m s realistas .
Ortiz reflexiona sobre su aplicaci n en videojuegos asegurando que por ejemplo, ahora mismo no est muy claro c mo simular la visi n nocturna en videojuegos. Adem s, este modelo se podr a personalizar a las caracter sticas del observador e incluso usar para aminorar el efecto de ciertas deficiencias visuales . Su ponencia est patrocinada por EXTENDA, la Agencia Andaluza de Promoci n Exterior.
La intervenci n en el OVR18 de la cient fica estadounidense Evelyn Miralles, de la NASA, y de la investigadora espa ola Mar a P rez Ortiz, de la Universidad de Cambridge, responden al compromiso de Medina Media, organizadora de evento, de dar visibilidad al papel de las mujeres en las Nuevas Tecnolog as.
