SACHTLER and Vinten tripod technology Flowtech reinvented This revolutionary technology of tripods simplifies and accelerates the workflows of the camera operators, thanks to its quick and easy installation, a wide range of heights and an exceptional torsional rigidity.
SACHTLER and Vinten, two brands of the Vitec Group, today presented Flowtech, a revolutionary technology in the world of the tripod that allows camera operators to install and start using the tripod immediately, thanks to its exclusive brakes of quick release and easily adjustable mechanisms. Both companies will exhibit for the first time this technology with the introduction of the tripod Flowtech 75 in IBC 2017.
Tobias Keuthen, director of Global Product Marketing Management, commented that "we have used and tested flowtech in every imaginable environment: in the Arctic, on top of mountains, on the beach and in the sea." It involves an evolution in tripod technology and promises to transform the way of working of the camera operators. Flowtech is the kind of innovation that arises when two legendary brands of film, video and broadcast industries join forces."
Keuthen adds that "with more rapid deployment of the world system, this fantastic carbon fiber tripod combines the speed and portability of a Sachtler tripod with the torsional rigidity of a Vinten. "It is easier and faster to deploy and adjust to any other tripod, allowing the user to quickly capture that perfect outlet and enjoy the reliability and the performance offered by these two brands market leaders".
Flowtech tripod design consists of a set of legs of two sections with a central stabilizer carbon fiber (triangle intermediate) easy to remove and rubber feet, and offers a load capacity of 20 kg. Exclusive quick release brakes located on the top of the tripod to allow that all the legs are deployed simultaneously and adapt automatically to the soil surface, without having the operator to bend over or set manually several brakes on each leg.
Flowtech 75
Lightweight and easy to transport, the new 75 Flowtech is specifically designed so that the camera operator can comfortably wear it over the shoulder and is equipped with magnetic closures to keep secure the Tripod legs during transport. flowtech 75 may extend from only 26 cm up to a height of 153 cm without the triangle, which is detachable, or from 63 cm to 157 cm with the triangle. A simple locking system allows very low shots at ground level, avoiding having to carry a second tripod baby to each session. Exceptional torsional rigidity of flowtech guarantees that the tripod does not rotate during the panoramic movements of the camera, an extremely important issue in any film production.
Luke Thomas, independent camera based in Los Angeles, acknowledged that his first impression of the 75 Flowtech is that "its a revolutionary tripod. It is evident that Sachtler and Vinten have thought of every detail when designing it, since they have taken into account the essential functions of the tripods to create a solution that will greatly improve the workflows of the camera operators. It is not unusual to see so many innovations in a single Tripod".
To evaluate the performance of flowtech, the tripod has been tested in the most demanding environments, from mud and sand until the most extreme temperatures. After more than 30,000 cycles of laboratory tests, in which the tripod bowed and deployed; and 1.5 million operations of locking and unlocking on the Bank of strength tests, determined flowtech exceeded strict performance targets established by the two marks Sachtler and Vinten.
Karen Walker, Vice President of Product Management, says that "often, the tripod is not normally too be taken into account, since the operator makes more use of the camera and the fluid head to legs that support the team. However, it is not over emphasise the importance of the tripod; given that is a crucial element so the camera operator can make a decision as quickly and efficiently as possible. "With Flowtech, have thought of every detail of the users work flow to create a tripod much easier to use and more versatile than ever".
