SMPTE Sustaining Member Adder Technology Earns Queens Award for Enterprise 04 Jun 2014

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE ), the worldwide leader in motion-imaging standards and education for the communications, media, entertainment, and technology industries, today announced that Adder Technology, a SMPTE sustaining member based in the U.K., has received a Queens Award for Enterprise in the category of innovation. Adder Technology earned the award for its pioneering AdderLink Infinity solution, a hardware-based, digital keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) matrix used for controlling and distributing digital video signals.

Adder Technology has long been a leader in developing and delivering high-performance KVM products, and we congratulate the company on earning this well-deserved recognition of its forward-looking approach to product and solution design, said Barbara H. The companys expertise makes it a valuable contributor to the media industry not only through its own product lineup, but also through its participation in SMPTE standards work and educational programs.

The AdderLink Infinity solution is used across multiple industries and applications from pro AV, broadcasting, and post production to command and control and industrial process automation to enable an unlimited number of users to connect to various computers securely, allowing them to access content via a standard IP network. The solution is the first of its kind to allow multicasting across networks. Users and machines can be separated by almost any distance, yet operators maintain real-time control of their computing resources, without loss of audio quality or video resolution, through keyboard and mouse, graphics tablet, or other touch screen device.

Awarded for outstanding achievement by U.K. businesses in the categories of innovation, international trade, and sustainable development, the Queens Awards for Enterprise are the U.K.s most prestigious business awards, designed to recognize and encourage achievements by businesses in the U.K., the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II bestowed the award on the advice of the prime minister, who was assisted by an advisory committee that included representatives of government, industry and commerce, and the trade unions.
