ETCnomad users value the portability of their lighting systems, but sometimes the fast-paced production world calls for more than virtual keyboards and X-key controls. Luckily, ETC has a solution waiting in the wings. Enter the new Eos and Cobalt Programming Wings, two affordable, portable accessories that bring new programming power to tech tables, backstage remotes and the road.

Programming Wings can fly wherever you do

Now on-the-road control need not be left to chance. The new ETC Eos Programming Wing provides a portable home-base for the programmer on the move, allowing users to travel with physical control surfaces to supplement their ETCnomad Puck or PC/Mac-based systems. The Programming Wings fit in dedicated, robust flight cases that can be easily checked as luggage. In addition to two powered USB ports, the Wings have a third, recessed port to store and secure the ETCnomad dongle.

The Programming Wings use the same programming layouts as the Gio and Cobalt 10 facepanels, so users can transition to the road without altering their workflows or hunting for keys. The Programming Wings provide the traveling technician with all the comforts of home. Each wing contains playback and fader controls, parameter encoders, and level and rate controls, along with DMX512-A/RDM and MIDI In/Out outputs, a Contact Closure Trigger, and Littlelite connections.

Use a Wing as a programming remote with RPUs, RVIs and Cobalt Light Servers

The Programming Wings are not just for lighting nomads. Wings are VESA-mountable for temporary or permanent installation backstage, in a rack, or on a tech table. The Programming Wings can be connected to an Eos/Ion RPU (Remote Processor Unit), RVI, RVI3 (Remote Video Interface) or a Cobalt Light Server to create a remote programming interface wherever one is needed. Measuring approximately 20 inches by 14 inches and weighing in at 9.5 pounds, the Wings can easily be carried from room to room or packed away when tech is over.

The release of the Programming Wings goes hand in hand with the upcoming Eos v2.3 and Cobalt v7.2 software updates, which enable the functionality of the new hardware, along with a host of other new features, including advanced color control in Eos and the Beat Boss speed controller in Cobalt. The Programming Wings are compatible with devices running Windows 7 or higher or Macs with OSX Mavericks or higher.
