For its newest television series, In An Instant, a two-hour, docudrama premiering on ABC on March 6th, COMMITTEE FILMS takes on breathtaking stories of the profound will to survive when people are staring death in the face. COMMITTEE called on long-time post-production partner SPLICE to collaborate on the new series. In An Instant premieres on Friday, March 6th (9:00-11:00 pm ET) and then moves to its regular timeslot on Saturday, March 7th (9:00-11:00 pm ET) on the ABC Television Network. In an Instant is Executive Produced by Maria Awes and Andy Awes for COMMITTEE FILMS in association with ABC's Lincoln Square Productions.
In An Instant does more than just re-tell heart pounding, first-person accounts of the world's most harrowing tales of survival, it brings them to life with breathtaking dramatizations of the moment before and after life was forever changed. The powerful new series features the trials and triumphs from every angle, and includes gripping, first-person interviews with the people who lived to tell their stories - and those who were instrumental in helping them survive.
Working with SPLICE as our post-production partner on In An Instant' for ABC has been a wonderful experience, says COMMITTEE FILM's Maria Awes. We have long valued our relationship with the folks on their team and consider SPLICE a critical factor in making all of our television series and specials successful.
COMMITTEE FILMS has been a great partner for six years now, and we're thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them on In An Instant,' says SPLICE Partner Barb Condit. As always, we've refined our creative process to realize their vision, and In An Instant'gives us a chance to try a few new things. We see this as a groundbreaking project that will allow us to grow, particularly in the VFX area.
The new series relies heavily on dramatic reenactments, including complex visual effects, sound effects and editing hundreds of hours of interviews. SPLICE's contribution is the combined effort of over 20 SPLICE artists, project managers and technicians. By the time the last episode of In An Instant airs in March, SPLICE will have been working on the series for more than seven months.
SPLICE provided all the post-production work for In An Instant, after the story of each episode was created, produced and edited by Committee. This included sound design and mix, visual effects creation, color grading, edit finishing, preparing each episode to meet ABC's broadcast standards, mastering for digital delivery to the network and designing the program open and onscreen graphics. COMMITTEE FILMS handled the creative editorial on all episodes except for Grizzly Attack, which was edited by Splice's own Chadwick Nelson.
