Arvato grs global SCM elite at the inaugural edition of Supply Chain Mastercla

Baarn/Guetersloh - In the picturesque settings of Castle Hooge Vuursche at Baarn (NL), Arvato hosted their first in a series of Masterclass events. With a clearly defined objective of promoting and encouraging dialogue among industry leaders, the topic of Supply Chain Innovation was addressed by guests from the international Supply Chain elite, BCI Consultants and Arvato.

Opening with a networking dinner on the previous evening, guests were given an opportunity to connect and discuss expectations of the event. The following day was opened by Andreas Barth, President Hightech & Entertainment - Arvato SCM Solutions who stated:

Innovation is the core foundation of the long term strategy of Arvato. Today we plan to push the Supply Chain boundaries of conventional thinking by examining challenges and the massive opportunities of

digital transformation for the Supply Chain world.

Industry experts who contributed to the success of the event included Annet Aris, Adjunct Professor of Strategy at INSEAD, who spoke of The new rule of game in the digital world , Edwin van der Meerendonk, Vice President at Walt Disney who discussed the importance of Supply Chain Visibility and the challenges faced if visibility becomes an issue, and Mike Kearney, Vice President at Electronic Arts, who offered an insight into Digital Transformation captivating the audience with a description of how and why Electronic Arts is a company which thinks about the player experience at every step and in so doing are transforming themselves for a digital future.

Opinions obtained from participants and speakers at the Supply Chain Masterclass portrayed the success of the event. Edwin van der Meerendonk perceives that the general challenge with seminars is that there are too many people watching at presentations that are too general. It's therefore that seminars are nice for networking, but seldom really trigger the thinking. He continues: The Arvato Masterclass defeats this seminar problem . Result: Interesting topics that trigger the mind, presented by good speakers and because of the limited number of attendees, it facilitates an interactive environment.
