Produce part of the on-air promotional materials such as logos, promos, show title sequences, idents, fillers, still graphics, contest and image spots, marketing and sales tapes.
Coordinate all on-air related activities and help maintain a coherent image on the channels with external companies as well as all relevant internal departments.
Supervise the production of promos and graphic elements while fulfilling all communication and administration needs.
Traffic all on-air materials to and from .
Produce graphics/logos/promos/fillers/image spots/sales tapes/to promote Africa on-air programming in a unique style as directed by the creative manager.
Help maintain a strong channel and cultural identity, which encompasses the attitude and character of channel while targeting a wide pan-African audience.
Producing creative yet precise and high quality material, under the pressure of tight deadlines and budgets, and being flexible to carry out last minute amendments as requested while delivering all projects on time.
Liaise with the marketing and commercial departments, and with the clients where necessary, to ensure that the external requests and the channel on-air requirements are balanced and met for all sponsored series and campaigns.
Keep up to date with all major design and editing software.
Keep up to date with youth culture and music related trends and with new design outputs within the industry worldwide (e.g. follow up the Promax output).
The on-air production process includes the following specific tasks:
Create specific briefs for all elements required for in-house and/or outsourced productions.
Create specific visual references templates and/or storyboards.
Source music and supervise music cut downs.
Source visual materials London library.
Script and direct voice over and oversee all audio sessions.
Edit own in-house promos and graphic elements as instructed by the editorial/creative departments and WaDS.
Supervise all outsourced projects making sure that all steps in the communication process with the external companies are followed and comply with the channels need and regulations.
Supervise the look and feel of all outsourced projects making sure that it adheres to VIACOM standards.
Organise and coordinate editors, graphic designers, audio editors, runners and live shoots when requested.
Coordinate the scheduling of the promos and oversee all on-air traffic.
Create and maintain a database with all relevant information on each and every graphic element.
Create databases for all graphic materials, file and archive.
Create and maintain back up compilation tapes off both clean and finalised elements.
Provide the relevant departments with still pictures and extracts of all on-air related materials (e.g. press, online, production, marketing, etc.)
Support the production manager in setting up a time and cost effective system to ship all On Air materials
Strong project management ability
Creative thinking ability
Coordination or requests and external talent
Preferable general software over-view:
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Avid, Final Cut or Avid DS
Experience in supervising or producing live action and photography a plus
3D animation software experience a plus (Maya, 3Dmax, Lightwave)
Minimum three years in on-air promotions.
