Marquis Broadcast, specialist in content workflows and media integration software will demonstrate the latest functionality of its leading integration solutions designed to optimise broadcast workflows at IBC this year on booth 2.A58. Marquis' popular archive and retrieve solution, Project Parking, will be on show, in addition to the latest enhancements for the company's flagship media integration solution, Medway, which includes its new DPP functionality to deliver files in AS-11 format. The new Digital Production Partnership (DPP) support from Marquis, will enables content to be delivered in the new DPP AS11 delivery format which becomes mandatory in the UK from October.
Medway is our sophisticated software tool kit which enables seamless and cost-effective integration between leading broadcast content applications, confirms Ben Miles, business development manager, Marquis Broadcast. The new DPP functionality allows Medway to transfer media and provide conversion services between Avid environments by rewrapping and/or transcoding as a background process in a single data transfer stream. At the same time, asset quality is maintained and it is straight forward to keep track of them at each step in the process.
The latest updates to our archive and retrieve solution, Project Parking, will also be on show, continues Miles. Project Parking enables editors to analyse and manage all the projects and media on their edit storage, and it has now been supplied to broadcasters and post houses all over the world.
At IBC this year, we will be demonstrating the latest functionality in Project Parking which now includes Interplay Orphan Crosschecking (IOC), which provides verification of orphan material when working with Avid Interplay, opening the solution up to more customers who rely on Interplay MAM operating in tandem with ISIS workspaces. Project Parking also now includes AMA content support. Park and Restore AMA linked media within a Project, enables AMA linked media to be identified during the archive process and then be moved into the project archive. During the restoration, the AMA content can be mapped to a different mounted workspace.
In addition, we will also be showing Project Parking's ability to select additional content to Avid Projects (graphics/image and media files for example) at the point of archive, continues Miles. This means users can select additional folders at the point of archive from which Project Parking will copy the contained content into the chosen destination. Multiple folders can be included and certain different rules can be applied to which files will be used. Files will be returned to their original location but can be mapped to different folders if required. This will be helpful for editors needing to copy original graphics/Image media files or copying wider project related documentation such as scripts and other non-media items.
Now available with new analysis and management tools Project Parking gives broadcasters total control to manage the efficiency of their edit storage, explains Miles. Project Parking analyses all Avid projects and media so that editors can understand which projects are using up most space and take action to transfer, archive or delete. As well as finding large projects, Project Parking can identify unused or duplicate media which can be deleted or archived. With Project Parking users can create project archives based upon bin selection, move projects between tiers of storage or transfer to different locations. After archiving and transferring media off-line, selected projects or bins can be restored and merged with the original media back on-line.
