Capitol Broadcasting Company Adds FM Translators for WDNC-AM

Triangle gets more sports on FM

620 The Buzz, WDNC-AM, can now be found on two additional positions on the radio dial. The most recent signal in Durham on 96.5 MHz joins 99.3 MHz in Raleigh, which was launched in April 2014.

An FM translator is a lower power FM radio station broadcasting a signal of up to 250 watts that simulcasts the programming from a licensed parent FM or AM radio station. Together, the two FM signals have the ability to reach nearly one million Triangle residents.

Capitol Broadcasting is working to ensure that our Raleigh-Durham listeners have the best opportunity to tune into our outstanding sports talk programming, along with Duke Football and Basketball on FM, said Dennis Glasgow, Operations Manager and Program Director of 99.9 The Fan ESPN Radio, The Buzz and 1550 ESPN Deportes. In this fast-changing radio landscape, we're looking for every advantage to grow our listenership for the Triangle sports fan. I think we've accomplished that with the addition of these two translators in Raleigh-Durham.

The Buzz lineup includes: The World's Strongest Morning Show with Mark and Mike (6a-9a), The Dan Patrick Show (9a-12p), The Jim Rome Show (12p-4p) and The Dan Lebatard Show (4p-7p). The Buzz is also home for CBS Sports Radio and Duke University Football and Basketball.

In addition to the original home of the Buzz on 620 AM and the new FM translators, The Buzz can be heard on 99.9 HD-2. Other ways to listen include steaming live on WRALSportsFan.com and from the WRALSportsFan app, which is available for download in iTunes or the Google Play stores.
