Sony appoints Scott to lead European media solutions

Sony Professional Solutions Europe has appointed Richard Scott as its head of media solutions.

The strategic appointment, according to Sony, is a key part' of the ongoing transformation to a company recognised both for its broadcast hardware to one also providing solutions through a range of products and services.

Joining from digital platform security company Irdeto, Scott brings with him over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and services within broadcast, production, media distribution, IT and security companies.

It's an incredibly exciting time to be joining the media solutions team and I'm looking forward to leading Sony to fulfil its ambition in this dynamic space, said Scott.

As the European broadcast and media market continues to evolve quickly, Sony is well positioned to take a clear leadership role, with a strong focus on innovative and transformational solutions for its broad range of customers. And as Sony transitions to a true solutions business, combining both products and services, there will be even more opportunities to help overcome the challenges our customers are facing.

Scott will assume overall responsibility in managing Sony's future customer engagement.
