5 Reasons to Visit Cantemo at NAB Las Vegas

The Cantemo team will very shortly be heading out to Las Vegas once again for NAB. The event is always a fantastic opportunity to catch up with our partners and customers, and to hear about the newest developments in the industry. We have some exciting things planned for the show, so heres five reasons why we think you should visit our stand! (psst, its #SL9024).

1. To hear about the launch of our brand-new, hybrid cloud MAM system, iconik. Visitors to the Cantemo booth will, excitingly, be offered a demonstration of our latest product, Cantemo iconik ! Our newest solution, launched in beta-version, will only be available to a limited number of existing customers until later this year. As such, NAB is a great opportunity to be one of the first to sample iconiks offerings. As a media management platform built specifically for the cloud, iconik continues to offer core functionalities including ingestion, distribution, rights adherence and metadata processing, as well as additional unique benefits such as true hybrid cloud collaboration and rapid scalability. A multitude of users, from the biggest of organisations, to the smallest, will be able to take advantage of iconiks elasticity and cost-effectiveness as a result of its customisable features. 2. To see truly flexible MAM in action If youre a fan of Cantemo (who isnt?!), you may have already heard about the release of the latest version of our flagship MAM system, Portal 3.1. As ever, the newest release features a host of enhancements which make it easier for users to view, edit, add or alter media files. But Portal hasnt lost any of its flexibility. Cantemo Portal was built with integrations in mind, which means, as a core solution, it can be customised to suit individual needs. A number of third-party applications are already fully integrated with Portal, as a result of its open API, meaning our customers can work on the systems they prefer. To name just a few, Portal currently integrates with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, as well as with a number of transcode and archive solutions using our APIs.

The same can be said of our newest solution, iconik. The elasticity of the cloud, coupled with an assortment of available integrations and customisations, makes it a truly unrivalled and flexible MAM.

For those of you who are lucky enough to be attending the whirlwind that is NAB this year, well also be offering an exclusive sneak-peek at the not-yet-released Portal 3.2. New features include conditional metadata support, as well as the ability to edit saved searches.

3. To find out why you should move to a hybrid cloud Moving to the cloud may not be appropriate for all. But it is gaining traction, mainly because of the clouds cost-effectiveness and flexibility. The ideal solution is a hybrid cloud approach, one where video content providers can take advantage of the benefits of the cloud whilst having piece of mind in terms of the security of their content. The scalability of the cloud means that the amount you are capable of storing will not depend on the amount of hard-drives you can fit on-premise. The cost of having the capacity to store huge amounts of content at one time is significant, as well as impractical for smaller organisations. Hybrid environments are also of particular benefit to those with multiple collaborators based in separate locations. An appropriate platform can intelligently manage the transfer of media files between locations as needed, even depending on rules and automated triggers. Importantly, users of hybrid cloud systems can pick and choose which files are put into the cloud, reducing the concerns surrounding security.

4. To discuss how our clients are using Portal to manage their files Were proud to be able to say that we have many happy customers who currently use Portal to intelligently manage their content. Most recently, we partnered with Orange Prestations TV (OPTV). As a subsidiary of Orange, OPTV turned to us with the problem of facing an ever-growing library of content which was becoming increasingly difficult to correctly manage, distribute and archive. Portal overhauled OPTVs workflow, resulting in higher levels of efficiency and easier access to assets. Other clients of ours include a long list of well-known organisations such as ITV, EndemolShine Australia, the Guardian and Unicef.
