Team Fujifilm Steps Up to Covid-19 Response

As the impact of the coronavirus pandemic started to hit the UK hard in March, the team at Fujifilm were determined to put their customers first and provide the best service possible during such unprecedented times.

Whilst most of the organisation transitioned to work from home, a core team remained on site at the Bedford headquarters. Engineers have been busy in the workshop getting mobile systems configured and out to customers, the Supply Chain team have retained a presence on site during the lockdown to manage orders and deliveries, and Customer Service remained in the office for a short time whilst their customer management systems were configured to work remotely.

The lockdown hasn't stopped our dedicated teams of applications specialists and engineers from completing installation work and training either. They have continued to deliver on commitments to customers for existing projects, essential servicing and new installations of the mobile x-ray systems which have been so critical in the management of Covid-19 patients. Our large team of applications specialists are all ex-radiographers, and Fujifilm was happy to support one member of the team who decided to return to the NHS for a two month secondment as a practicing radiographer.

Our Women's Health Team has also been busy finding ways to support mammography professionals. Whilst the Fujifilm Mammography CPD programme which was planned for the spring had to be put on hold because of lockdown, the team were undeterred and created a series of e-learning sessions to offer ongoing development, free of charge and easy to access. These live and interactive presentations have proved to be very popular and successful. The first topics covered tomosynthesis and patient comfort, and more e-learning sessions are planned whilst lockdown continues.

The Medical Informatics team have been flat out building and delivering dozens of Home Reporting Workstations across England and Wales. The project has meant radiologists at Fujifilm PACS sites have been able to work from the safety of their home with the same image quality, workflow and advanced software tools as they would use at the hospital. The Medical Informatics team overcame substantial challenges in supply and logistics to deliver these workstations.
