In 2022, sports leagues from across the U.S. continued to advance their operations and invested in new technologies to reach and engage with fans in new ways.
At the 2022 SVG Summit, leaders from the NFL, the NBA, the USTA, and NASCAR shared some of their highlights from the year ranging to growing in tracking tech and the building of new facilities.
This season, the NFL demonstrated major strides in player tracking. Chris Vassallo, the NFL's Director, Stadium Infrastructure & Football Technology pulls back the curtain on the work that was done and shares where he feels the greatest strides were made.
Known for its innovative nature, the USTA hosted another exciting US Open in 2022, highlighted by a mega performance from the legendary Serena Williams. Patti Fallick, Managing Director, Broadcast for the USTA reflects on what worked at another big summer in Queens.
The NBA worked hard at its menu of alternate live game viewing experiences and even launched a brand new mobile app in 2022. Dave Barry, Head of Broadcast Operations & Engineering for the NBA breaks down some of the league's big wins in tech.
In 2022, NASCAR experimented with exciting new race locales and began construction on a brand new broadcast facility set to open in 2024. Steve Stum, NASCAR's VP Operations and Technical Production broke down some of his highlights from a busy year.
