Mediacom Deploys Riedel Easy5G for Wireless Camera Covera...

Riedel Communications today announced that Mediacom has purchased and deployed Easy5G , Riedel's Private 5G solution, for live broadcast coverage of La Vuelta in Monaco. La Vuelta is a professional cycling race, and Mediacom independently deployed and operated the Easy5G system to provide wireless connectivity for two HD cameras covering the race departure ceremony at Monaco's Place du Palais Princier.

Mediacom selected Easy5G for its ability to deliver dedicated, broadcast-grade wireless connectivity within minutes of setup without the congestion risk of public 5G, the instability of Wi-Fi, or the time and complexity of cabling a temporary production network. For a high-profile, single-take event such as the La Vuelta departure in Monaco, with no room for an interrupted camera feed, that reliability was the deciding factor.

For the Monaco deployment, Mediacoms crew set up Easy5Gs private 5G network around Place du Palais Princier ahead of the race departure, establishing a dedicated wireless uplink for two HD cameras covering the ceremony.
