El cocinero, presentador de televisi n, actor, escritor y empresario Karlos Argui ano ha sido galardonado con el Premio Nacional de Televisi n 2021 que concede el Ministerio de Cultura y Deporte y que est dotado con 30.000 euros.
El jurado, por unanimidad, ha querido reconocer en la personalidad creativa del premiado la continuidad sostenida de una completa trayectoria en el mbito de la televisi n, con especial relevancia en el afianzamiento y la consolidaci n de un g nero que re ne televisi n, gastronom a y cultura. Su aportaci n a la creaci n de audiencias fieles significa un impulso decisivo a la gastronom a como sector cultural .
El ministro de Cultura y Deporte, Jos Manuel Rodr guez Uribes, ha llamado personalmente al premiado para comunicarle el fallo del jurado y felicitarle.
El Premio Nacional de Televisi n recompensa la meritoria labor en el mbito televisivo espa ol puesta de manifiesto a trav s de una obra emitida durante 2020 o una contribuci n particular por su creatividad. En casos debidamente motivados podr ser concedido por el reconocimiento a una completa trayectoria profesional.
Con este Premio, el Ministerio reconoce a la televisi n como herramienta esencial para la difusi n de la cultura, as como su vinculaci n con el desarrollo y difusi n de las industrias culturales.
Between stoves on TV Karlos Argui ano naci en Beasain (Gipuzkoa) el 6 de septiembre de 1948. Con diecisiete a os se inscribi en la Escuela de Hosteler a del Hotel Euromar de en Zarautz. Tras un intenso periplo formativo que le llev a viajar por diversos pa ses, fundo en 1979 su propio restaurante, ubicado frente a la playa de Zarautz. Implicado de lleno en el movimiento de la New Basque Cuisine, siendo defensor y difusor de los principios que la sustentan.
Su relaci n con la televisi n se inicia en 1989 con el programa Hamalau Sukaldari en el primer canal de Euskal Telebista.
El a o 1992 fue clave en la carrera televisiva de Karlos Argui ano. Este a o, concretamente en marzo, comienza a emitirse para toda Espa a a trav s de La 1 de TVE el programa The daily menu, que se consolida en pocas semanas como el espacio l der de audiencias en su franja horaria.
En abril del 96 se inicia en la televisi n argentina la emisi n de Karlos Argui ano in your kitchen, un programa realizado ntegramente en Argentina
En el a o 97 Karlos Argui ano traslada su programa a Telecinco donde permanecer hasta el a o 2010. Desde ese a o, hasta la actualidad, su programa Open Kitchen se emite a diario en las cadenas de Atresmedia, Antena 3 y Nova.
