Cinedigm and The Film Arcade Nab Sundance Selection Song One Starring Anne Hathaway CANNES, France--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cinedigm Corp. (NASDAQ: CIDM) and The Film Arcade are proud to announce the acquisition of Song One, a musical romance starring Anne Hathaway and directed and written by Kate Barker-Froyland. The companies are planning a multi-platform release in the fall with The Film Arcade distributing the film theatrically and Cinedigm handling all ancillary distribution.

Anne Hathaway stars as Franny, an anthropologist doing research in Morocco, who returns to New York when her musician brother Henry (Ben Rosenfield) suffers an accident and falls into a coma. As she reconnects with her brother and mother (Mary Steenburgen), Franny seeks out musicians that her brother loved. Among them is James Forester (Johnny Flynn), Henrys musical idol, whose success and fame belie a shy and private man. A strong romantic connection sparks between Franny and James, set against the backdrop of Brooklyns modern folk music scene.

Songwriters Jenny Lewis and Johnathan Rice were the perfect people to tell the stories of James and Henry through their music.

Woodrow and Molly Conners are producers. Executive Producers are Maria Castone, Sarah E. Johnson and Hoyt David Morgan. The deal was negotiated by Scordino with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) representing the filmmakers. CAA also arranged financing for the film.
