BACKENTERTAINMENT ONE BUILDS DEEPER PARTNERSHIPS IN THE NORDICS THROUGH EXPANDED CONTENT DEALS AND PLANS FOR NEW LOCAL PRODUCTIONLatest volume deals deliver a staggering 800 hours of premium programming sold in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland
London October 18, 2021 Entertainment One (eOne) today confirmed it is strengthening its partnerships in the Nordics through expanded content deals and plans for a new local production. eOne's tally of programming deals this past year accounts for more than 800 hours of scripted and unscripted content across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. The studio is also increasing its presence beyond distribution with original IP, deepening its roots in the region by partnering with SAM Productions on the development of a new local series yet to be announced.
We are committed to growing our relationships in this significant region with broader distribution deals across an expanded library of content as we solidify our presence in the Nordics. We're proud to deliver eOne's vast slate of international hits to audiences across the Nordics, especially as we make headway and continue to widen our focus within this territory, said Carolina den Baas, Director, Sales, eOne, who brokered the deals with several key broadcasters across the region.
Expansive Content Deals
eOne's suite of agreements totals more than 800 hours of content with key broadcasters across the Nordics including TV2, NRK in Norway; Tele2, C-More and TV4 in Sweden; Siminn and Syn in Iceland; YLE in Finland; and DRTV in Denmark, to name a few. As a result of these deals, the range of programming available to audiences in this key region spans multiple genres and features such fan-favorites and ratings performers as Upright, Burden of Truth, Heartland, Nurses, Moonshine, Family Law, Between Two Worlds, and La Garconne, as well as a number of premium factual specials such as The Battle For Hong Kong, Inside China and Outbreak: The Virus that Shook the World.

Our strategic progress within this territory also includes plans for investing in our first Swedish Scandi-noir series.
eOne's content has a proven track record of success with audiences in the region, including global hit The Rookie, starring Emmy -award nominee Nathan Fillion which successfully launched on TV2 as the #1 highest rated US scripted series premiere for over three years and the channel s highest rated US scripted series for over 10 months (total individuals, L 7D). Due to the success of the series in Norway, TV2 recently extended its commitment to include life of series rights. In Sweden, The Rookie ranks as one of Tele2 s most successful series, reaching #1 in both total viewing and audience retention for the service, while in Iceland The Rookie was a huge success across linear and digital viewing opportunities, ranking as Siminn s highest rated show of 2020. The Rookie is currently in production on its fourth season with 22 episodes, the biggest season order for the series to-date.
