With his platinum-selling tracks and dance floor chart-toppers, local singer-songwriter Daniel Baron continues to push the envelope as one of South Africa's multi-genre artists. With a career spanning over a decade, Baron has celebrated 15 number-one hits and is hoping to add two special awards to his cabinet

WHO IS DANIEL BARON? Since kicking off his music career, Daniel Baron has achieved success, broken records and lent a helping hand to some of Mzansi's top musicians. Baron has collaborated with the likes of Kwesta, ProVerb, Euphonik, Sketchy Bongo and more.

In 2013, the muso opened for American rock band Bon Jovi for his performance at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Baron is best known for his hits, So Much More (which featured on DStv as the theme song), Children Of The Sun, All Over Now and How To Feel.

DANIEL BARON'S SAMA NOMINATIONS Daniel Baron's work was recognised by the South African Music Awards (Samas) where he received nominations in the Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album Of The Year categories for his fourth studio album, City Of God & The Jungle Below.

Released in 2021, the 25-track album was in the making for five years and was produced, mixed and engineered by Daniel at Hit Kitchen Studios.

This is the album that I believe is the greatest body of work that I have created and possibly the greatest that I will ever create, said Baron.

The songs on the new record tell a story both personal and universal, whilst showcasing some of the singer's best vocal performances.

BARON CELEBRATES WITH ROSES' The local musician began writing Roses more than 10 years ago while going through heartbreaking. Baron never completed the song until he was inspired to revisit it during the creation of City Of God & The Jungle Below.

I'm such a sucker for ballads. I love writing them and I'm obsessed with all the classic heartbreak ballads in music history. Roses is such an emotional song for me and has easily become my favourite ballad I've ever written, highlighted Baron.
