A spectacular building project will be completed in just one night, from 13 to 14 September, when specialists from Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket transform the Schaeffler IAA trade fair stand (Hall 5.1, Stand A04) into a desert landscape before the start of the public days. Focus of this will be the Trophy Truck from Armin Schwarz, designed in the

Schaeffler racing colours green and yellow. The Trophy Truck will take the starting line for the toughest desert rally in the world - the Baja 1000 - in mid-November 2013. Schaeffler is not only sponsor and outfitter for Armin Schwarz and the All German Motorsport Team, but an important development partner as well. A host of Schaeffler products are installed in the yellow-green desert lizard - from bearings to a torque converter that was developed by Schaeffler engineers.

Some 4,000 Spax screws, 300 meters of cabling, Mexican cacti and grasses - a total of more than 60 tons of material - will be used to transform the stand in just a single night following a meticulously-planned schedule. During the Frankfurt Motor Show public days, visitors to the Schaeffler stand will experience the fascination of perfect technology paired to a first-class product and service quality along with innovation and passion - just more innovation, more quality, more passion , said Rouven Daniel, Director Marketing & Communications, Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket. Original replacement parts from the LuK, INA and FAG brands will be exhibited on simulated desert rocks, while interactive modules will help visually explain how complex, high-tech products from Schaeffler function. The Aftermarket specialists will be available at the stand for meetings and for answering question about products - whether it's a LuK dual mass flywheel, FAG tapered roller bearing or special tool.

more passion - or the fascination of perfect technology and pure adrenalin - is the motto of the Schaeffler Rally Experience with Armin Schwarz. The pilot will be at the trade fair stand from 2-5 pm, on 14 September, to talk about his preparations for this year's Baja 1000, give technical details about the AGM-Jimco X6 SCORE Trophy Truck, and be available for autographs and pictures. In addition to this, the successful rally pilot will demonstrate his driving abilities that same day on a 3D full-motion simulator when he tackles a challenging section of a desert rally course right at the stand. His best time will then be used as reference for trade fair visitors, who will have the opportunity to drive the same section as fast as they can at the stand until 22 September. Owners of the fastest times each day will win attractive prizes and the overall winner - who will be determined in an exciting race between the daily winners on the last day of the show - will receive a main prize of an individual off-road adventure in the USA.
