IBC 2026: Announces New Future Tech Ignite Initiative, Expanded Exhibitor Participation

IBC2026 will take place at the RAI Amsterdam from September 11-14, bringing together attendees from more than 170 countries. The show is expected to exceed 45,000 square meters across 14 halls with more than 1,200 exhibitors. New initiatives include Future Tech Ignite, featuring a dedicated Start-up Zone and Ignite Stage.

As the media and entertainment industry continues to evolve, the IBC community increasingly wants not only to discover new technologies, but also exchange knowledge, address challenges, share expertise and connect with others around the topics that matter, says Michael Crimp, CEO, IBC. From Future Tech Ignite and the Accelerator Programme to IBC Exchange and the Conference, IBC2026 is designed to help industry players turn ideas into action and unlock opportunities.

Future Tech Ignite

IBC has expanded its partnership with EIT Culture and Creativity, part of the EU-backed European Institute of Innovation and Technology, naming it Innovation Partner for Future Tech Ignite. The initiative will connect more than 50 start-ups and emerging technologies with the broader media and entertainment ecosystem through a four-day programme on the Ignite Stage covering future-focused content, talent development, and a creative showcase. The IBC Talent Programme, now in its third year, will also be part of Future Tech. Supporting partners include AWS, Microsoft, Google, HP, AMD, and Shure. Google returns as headline sponsor of the IBC Accelerator Media Innovation Programme.

Future Tech will also include the Braindate Lounge, a new part of the IBC Exchange experience for curated one-to-one and small-group discussions, available through the IBC Exchange premium pass.

Exhibitors

Expanding their footprint at IBC2026 are AJA, Avid, Bestview, Egripment, EVS, Fonn Group, Kupo, MediaKind, Nanlite, NEP, Prime Focus, Riedel, SNS, Sony, TVU Networks, Twelve Labs, and Vizrt. Returning major brands include Accenture, Adobe, AWS, Blackmagic Design, Canon, Grass Valley, Microsoft, Oracle, Panasonic, Ross Video, and Videndum. Google returns as a major Content Everywhere exhibitor and DJI returns with a presence in Future Tech. New exhibitors include Muybridge (IBC2026's largest new exhibitor), Avion, Barco, Chengdu Vistelen, CREE8, Dropbox, Edgenext, Evoto, Leica, Rakuten, Scaleway, Shade, Suite, and TVUP.

Conference

The three-day Conference programme is organized around the themes of Shifting Business Models, Transformative Tech, and People and Purpose, with sessions including Disrupt, Innovate, Create - How to embrace AI, The New Playbook for Sports: AI, data, fans and rights, and Security, Authenticity and Provenance. Featured speakers include Claire Enders (CEO and Founder, Enders Analysis), Eline van der Velden (Founder and CEO, Particle6), Guy-Laurent Epstein (Executive Director of Marketing, UEFA), Yiannis Exarchos (CEO, OBS), and Marion Rathmann (Group VP Content and Programming Networks, Warner Bros. Discovery).
