BURLINGTON, MA (November 1, 2012) - Signiant, the market leader in intelligent file movement software for media and entertainment, today named Doug Cahill as Vice President of Business Development. Cahill brings more than two decades of business development experience in the storage, networking and security industries to Signiant's senior leadership team. Based in Boston, he will drive strategic partnerships with IT technology partners and service providers worldwide. Today Signiant's accelerated file movement software is used to replace FTP and other file sharing technologies to facilitate the daily file transfer needs of tens of thousands of users in some of the world's largest media companies.
Cahill joins Signiant from Bit9, a leader in advanced threat protection where as Vice President of Business Development he established and developed OEM, channel and strategic alliances. Previously, Cahill held a similar role at storage management vendor AppIQ (acquired by Hewlett Packard), and also served as Vice President of Product Management at HighGround Systems (acquired by Sun Microsystems.) Early in his career, Cahill held senior marketing, product management and technical positions at Shiva Corporation, Progress Software and Access Technology.
Signiant's enterprise-class software solutions are designed to address all aspects of file-based media movement - including acceleration, automation, security and control - across global networks. The company's product suite includes subscription-based Media Shuttle desktop file transfer software delivered from the cloud; Media Exchange , featuring desktop, Web and mobile interfaces for moving file-based media between internal and external users; and Managers+Agents , optimized for automated batch file transfers, advanced resource management and workflow integration.
