Screen Australia today announced the recipients of the second round of its Enterprise Asia program, supporting 11 factual production companies to be part of an Australian screen industry delegation to Beijing and Chengdu, China, on 12 18 November 2013.
We're seeing heightened engagement between China and the international screen industry, and Australian producers, naturally being great collaborators, are at the forefront of that engagement, said Screen Australia's Chris Oliver, Senior Manager, State and Industry Partnerships.
There is terrific potential for Australian screen businesses to work with the Chinese television market. Our relationships with government, broadcasters and the production sector in China are well established, presenting real opportunities for collaboration.
The Enterprise Asia recipients are:

Screen Australia's Enterprise Asia program supports screen businesses that have viable plans for building their company relationships and slate in Asia. This may include the development of targeted co-productions, seeking co-financing from partners such as broadcasters in the region, or building working relationships with other screen companies.
For the delegation visit to China, funding of up to $15,000 is provided to support company principals' travel costs, as well as development costs to present projects to potential partners.
The visit to China will include exchanges with Chinese Government agencies, broadcasters and producers and will include information sessions, business-to-business meetings, presentations and networking events. The delegation will also travel to the Sichuan TV Festival (SCTVF), being held in Chengdu on 16 18 November (http://en.sctvf.com.cn/), where they will participate in the International TV Program Market, panels, screenings, presentations and awards. The Sichuan TV Festival will give members of the delegation an opportunity to profile their projects and businesses, and participate in targeted business matching opportunities and networking events.
The Australian delegation will also include representatives from Screen Australia and broadcasters, sales companies and production companies attending outside of the Enterprise Asia program funding round. Chris Oliver from Screen Australia will lead the delegation.
