Megahertz Showcases Systems Integration Capabilities at BVE 2015 19 February 2015

Megahertz Ltd, a leading systems integrator and mobile broadcast production specialist, is exhibiting at BVE 2015 (Stand C24, Excel, London, 24 26 February), as an opportunity to discuss its core skills in design and build of complex projects. Engineers and systems architects will be on hand to talk about the transition to IP infrastructures, as well as the challenges of new technologies such as 4k production.

One of the speakers in the BVE 2015 conference is Jamie Conway, CEO of Made TV, the largest licensee for city television stations in the UK. Megahertz designed and built the complete production, news and ENG kits for Made TV's five new stations, together with a centralised playout facility, which is now on air. The partnership started in the earliest days of Made TV, with Megahertz working with them to lobby the British government that the newest technology meant city television was sustainable.

Megahertz will be playing an important role in the future development and strategy of the company, Conway said. If we had tried to do this five years ago it would have been impossible, but with today's technology and the right systems integrator we are launching services that rival any national counterpart.

Made TV is a great example of the way that the systems integration business is changing, said Jon Flay, managing director at Megahertz. Of course there will still be customers who come to us for an outside broadcast truck or an edit network, and we will be delighted to work with them. But now there are new businesses entering the broadcast and media market, like Made TV, who need a strong partner to work with them at the strategic level.

The nature of BVE means that we have time to talk to companies at length, Flay added. We can talk through the challenges brought about by shifts in technology, we can hear about their commercial and business goals, and we can suggest developments that will help them get to where they need to be.

The session Jamie Conway is presenting is entitled The survival of local TV: effective publicity, great content and effective partnerships and will take place on Wednesday 25th February 2015, 14:15-14:45 in the Producer's Theatre.
