ProMAX Systems, manufacturer of multi-functional, high-performance shared storage servers and editing workstations continues to add smart improvements to their Platform shared storage systems, with new feature previews and new technology partnerships launching at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 7th- 10th.

New Platform Software Innovations

Headlining news for the next release of ProMAX Platform software is the all new web-based GUI. Moving the management controls off servers, to a browser based interface, offers users numerous advantages. System administrators will now have the ability to control all Platform functions, across all Platform Spaces, across all groups, from any machine they choose. Examples include managing permissions, file moves, copies, replications and more. Other significant software upgrades include new asset management searching and retrieval functions that provide full video playback previews. ProMAX will present live demos of the new software each day at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 & 4:00 p.m. in SL5422.

Technology Partner Announcements

Topping recent industry announcements is ProMAX's Platform series joining the NewTek Developer Network, filling the need for high-performance shared storage support to NewTek's TriCaster and 3Play multi-camera production and instant replay systems. Now TriCaster and 3Play can directly record multiple streams to the Platform Shared Storage System, extending total recording time and storage capacity. This integration enables users of TriCaster to store up to 256TB of content per Platform server node and simultaneously playback that media through the TriCaster . All users and devices on your IP network can access the shared content enabling a more efficient and collaborative workflow.

In addition, ProMAX Platform servers will be providing shared storage support to the StudioXperience's Live Broadcast Studio programming. ProMAX is equally proud to announce a new Platform system integration with Bluefish444. Through the partnership, ProMAX now supports the direct capture of up to 4 HDSDI signals directly to the ProMAX Platform Shared Storage system. Capabilities include recording SD, HD, 2K and 4K directly to a Platform Space, making media available immediately to creative users for editing. Now users have the ability to record and convert directly to DNX Codec (DNX36 8bit to DNX220 10bit) into an Avid compliant MXF file for immediate ingest into Avid Media Composer . Or they can record to Quicktime V210 and AVI. This solution eliminates waiting to copy media from a camera to a shared system, shortens workflows by recording directly to the Platform, and provides immediate access to footage. AVID pure DNX workflows can record directly to AVID supported media files allowing immediate import and editing without transcoding. Multiple configurations are available including 4 SDI inputs. DITS are expected to embrace this efficient functionality which will first be available for demos in the Platform systems at ProMAX's booth at NAB .
