Aimed at sound designers and editors working in film, TV and game audio, the latest release from BOOM Library comes packed with production-ready exterior ambiences that capture the distinct acoustic character of autumn.
All of the contents of Seasons of Earth: European Autumn have been captured on location, with the company employing a Schoeps ORTF-3D spatial rig to ensure that the resulting library delivers natural-sounding depth and localisation. The company say that the despite the sonic signature' of autumn being challenging to capture accurately, the latest release has been created entirely from natural recordings, and features no layering, foley or artificially constructed scenes.
Content includes everything from calm, breezy forest mid-days to deep wind gusts across open terrain, along with natural leaf rustle beds, mixed vegetation movement and thicket motion. The library also captures detailed seasonal bird activity, including forest bird beds, woodpecker knocks, ravens in the wind, small birds like tits, and crane activity in grassland environments. As you might expect, the use of a spatial recording rig means that the library offers full surround and immersive audio support, although a stereo-only version is still available.
