First demonstration of 4K KVM over copper LONG CRENDON UK, 7 December 2017 Argosy, a leading international supplier of broadcast cables and infrastructure products, will demonstrate at CABSAT 2018 (Dubai World Trade Centre, 14 - 16 January, stand Z5-100) how it is making life easier for systems engineers as technology evolves. Presentations will include new cabling technology as well as core infrastructure products. One of the centrepieces is the first KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) solution capable of supporting visually lossless 4K Ultra HD over a copper gigabit ethernet network. The ATEN system, distributed by Argosy, will be demonstrated live for the first time in the Middle East. It allows the hardware for a complete facility to be installed in a central machine room, with the control surfaces and monitors connected over the existing network fabric. Jobs can instantly move from room to room in a post house, for example, making the facility more productive with no downtime due to moving large files. We are continually looking for ways to help our customers build better, more efficient, more cost-effective installations, said Graham Lay, General Manager of Argosy's Middle Eastern operation. Alongside KVM, we will also be showing the latest Belden structured cabling, and new fibre solutions to simplify systems and increase bandwidth. Most important, the senior Argosy team will be on hand to talk to our many users in the Middle East about how we can help them. With IP connectivity a key issue, Argosy will feature the latest Cat6/Cat6A and structured cabling from Belden. That includes REVConnect, Belden's new solution for fast and fool-proof termination of shielded and unshielded twisted pair ethernet cables. Other products demonstrated will include video scalars and routers from Ensemble Design, and intelligent power management products from IPE. Argosy's comprehensive range of cables and associated connectors and panels will also be on show, helping systems engineers achieve the right balance of price, performance and weight for each project.
