On June 9-10, 2015 Minsk hosts the joint XLIII session of the Board and 18th meeting of the Operations Committee of the INTERSPUTNIK International Organization of Space Communications 02.06.2015

On June 9-10, 2015 Minsk hosts the joint XLIII session of the Board and 18th meeting of the Operations Committee of the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications (IOSC Intersputnik, Organization).

The joint session will be attended by the representatives of the following member countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, Germany, Cuba, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and the Czech Republic.

In connection with the expiration of the term of office of Mr. Peter Vari, Deputy Director General of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority of Hungary, as the Chair of the Board - the supreme governing body of IOSC Intersputnik, - the delegates of the joint session will elect a new Chair of the Board for the next term.

It is planned to address the issue of the conclusion of the Agreement on Cooperation between the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization and IOSC Intersputnik within the plenary meeting. A number of other issues related to the current performance and the development prospects of the Organization are to be considered as well. In particular, the delegates of the joint session will be provided with the information on Progress in the implementation of the Development Program of the Intersputnik International Satellite Telecommunications System based on New Satellites, reports of the Chair of the Operations Committee and the Director General on the Performance of the Organization. The new version of the Regulations of the Directorate of IOSC Intersputnik - a permanent executive and administrative body, headed by the Director General - will be proposed for consideration by the Board and the Operations Committee.

Background information

The INTERSPUTNIK International Organization of Space Communications was established in accordance with the intergovernmental Agreement on the Establishment of the INTERSPUTNIK International System and Organization of Space Communications dated November 15, 1971. It is an international intergovernmental organization with its headquarters in Moscow.

Currently INTERSPUTNIK comprises 26 states, which represent almost all geographical regions of the world from Central America to South-East Asia and from Europe to Africa.

The key area of INTERSPUTNIK activities is the provision of telecommunication and broadcasting companies, as well as corporate clients, with the satellite capacity on lease under the relevant agreements with the different satellite systems carriers. The organization provides full-scale services for satellite communications networks installation and operation through its subsidiary enterprise ISATEL LLC.
