Talpa media and cbv in portugal announce partnership Media entrepreneur John de Mols company Talpa and the renowned Portuguese TV producer CBV today announced the start of a 50-50 owned joint venture aimed at the Portuguese market. The new joint venture has the exclusive right to sell, adapt and produce all Talpa formats in the well known TV genres of reality, game show and scripted.
The joint venture will be headed by Piet-Hein Bakker, CEO of CBV. Himself a veteran in the Portuguese media business, Piet-Hein Bakker says: This is a great step ahead for me and my CBV founding partners Pedro Curto and Vasco Vilarinho. CBV has the domestic production capacity and in-house creativity, Talpa is developing a great catalogue of up to date formats in many different genres attracting a vast audience. Together we expect to grow to a strong and successful position in the dynamic Portuguese market and the growing market of Angola.
John de Mol adds: Talpa is fast moving when it comes to establishing partnerships in important TV markets. Recently we concluded deals in the US, France and Spain. For our partners Talpa is attractive thanks to its flow of creative new developed product. Portugal is not the biggest market in the world, but it is open and competitive. Thats why I feel very pleased to start this partnership with CBV and the team of Piet-Hein Bakker who we know for so many years.

CBV was founded late 2007 by ex-Endemol Portugal directors Piet-Hein Bakker, Pedro Curto and Vasco Vilarinho and funded by the investment fund of media entrepreneurs Joop van den Ende and Hubert Deitmers. Operating from Lisbon, CBV produces reality and entertainment programmes for all terrestrial broadcasters in Portugal, like Vip Manicure (SIC), Festival RTP - A Melhor Canc a o de Sempre (RTP), Camilo, O Presidente (SIC), Apanha-me Se Puderes (TVI), M/F (SIC), Quem Quer Ser Millionario (RTP), Gala Globos de Ouro (SIC), Gala Causa Maior (RTP), A Procura de Sally (RTP), A Minha Geracao (RTP), O Momento da Verdade (SIC), Atreve-te a Cantar (SIC), O Cubo (RTP) and Gera o Net (Panda Biggs).
