CTM Solutions Hosts a Day of Technology on the Seine in Paris

On the 29th June, technology providers and industry professionals were invited to a day dedicated to the celebration of media technology. The event was organised by the integrator, CTM Solutions.

Throughout the afternoon, whilst gliding along the Seine on a barge in the port de Javel Bas in Paris, multiple technology providers presented key highlights of their solutions. The global overview was accompanied by demonstrations of the technologies, as well as customer testimonials that were invited to share challenges resolved by all the various solutions on display. The participants found this extremely beneficial as it gave a strong overview of the multiple solutions and how they worked.

Presentations addressing current issues After the WannaCry and the Petya cyber attacks, which affected dozens of companies across the world, it has become painfully apparent that the risk of cyber attack is very real. Taking place the day after the Petya incident, this was on everyones mind during the talks. All forms of business, including audiovisual companies for whom the value of content is particularly high, need to adapt their infrastructure in order to respond to this new menace. These challenges were evoked by IVORY CEO, Julien Gachot, who presented MatrixStore, the object storage Digital Content Governance platform developed by Object Matrix. MatrixStore includes a number of features which enable its customers to protect their valuable content against these attacks, which can be devastating to a company. Its efficiency was demonstrated further by existing customers, Gr gory Vital, Director of Operations at NBC Universal and Eric Grapinet, CTO, Orange OPTV.

Captivating Professional Testimonials

Following an insightful overview of the main features of Cantemo Portal , a Media Asset Management solution developed by Cantemo, Christophe Martin de Montagu, Training Manager at Institute National Audiovisual (INA) shared his experience as a user of the platform. It is always extremely beneficial to get real life user insight on these solutions at work. After an initial step-by-step installation phase, Portal has been fully integrated into the IT and audiovisual training delivered by INA.

Philippe Guiblet, CTO, AMP Visual, discussed his use of ContentAgent, a task orchestration system and powerful transcoding engine from ROOT6 Technology, and notably the benefits of its interoperability within the Avid environment.

The premiere of iconik in France!

iconik is the new cloud Media Aggregation and Collaboration Platform developed by Cantemo. Julien Gachot, together with Adobes Head of Strategic Relations, Fred Rolland, presented Frances premiere preview of this new solution. Following an overview of the main functionality and a demonstration of it in use, Fred Rolland highlighted the challenges that are resolved by the Adobe Creative Cloud suite and how iconik integrates perfectly into this environment.

Nutanix and Rohde & Schwartz were also present for the day, covering the Masters and hyper convergence. The day ended with a very pleasant cocktail evening, with an open bar on the banks of the river.
