Destiny Media will be hosting the inaugural Film Finance World Conference on the 23rd October 2014 in Johannesburg and the aim is to provide a platform for producers, financiers and other stakeholders in the film industry to engage and gain insights on the latest developments in the film industry and how to ensure that feature film packages are viable and will be able to offer potential investors a return on investment.

The forum will also allow producers the opportunity to engage with experts from various fields including accounting, insurance and legal to gain knowledge on how to ensure that their and their investors' interests are protected.

Film Finance World will be staged at a time when the local film industry has seen tremendous growth in both local and international productions. According to a baseline study drafted by Deloitte on behalf of the National Film and Video Foundation, the SA Film Industry employs more than 25 000 people and contributed more than R3.5 billion in 2012. Parts of South Africa, particularly Cape Town has been the location of major international feature films with multi-million dollar budgets and with this momentum the Film Finance World will attempt to unlock more opportunities and funding to further grow the SA Film Industry and Africa's film industry as a whole. With Film Finance World producers will be able to get a clearer understanding of what distributors are looking for and how to attract potential investors. A key objective of Film Finance World will be to introduce financiers and the venture capital community to the feature film industry and provide them with an understanding of how film finance packages are structured and how to identify viable feature film projects. Destiny Media is hosting the Film Finance World Forum as part of its industry forum series aimed at unlocking funding, growth and opportunities in various sectors of the South African and African economy at large.

Filmmakers, financiers, venture capitalists and other stakeholders in the film and media industries are invited to register to attend Film Finance World 2014.
