Recreates a 1977 Hohner Clavinet D6

After launching a software recreation of their own electric piano, Rhodes set about capturing another classic instrument with Wurlitzer by Rhodes. Now, the company have set their sights on a rare Hohner Clavinet D6 from 1977, capturing the sharp attack, expressive response and rhythmic character that helped define the sound of countless funk, soul, disco and rock records.

Using the same powerful engine that powers their Rhodes Anthology plug-in, Rhodes Clav Pro combines an authentic-sounding vintage sound character with the flexibility of a modern virtual instrument. A Timbre Shift function allows players to move seamlessly from a pristine studio sound to gritty, road-worn character, exploring a wide range of tonal personalities inspired by different eras and conditions of the vintage instrument. The company have meticulously modelled the original instrument's amplifier simulations, while including multiple microphone signal options and offering adjustable cabinet resonance, authentic key noise modelling and an integrated Rhodes FX suite.

Users can fine-tune their sound using dedicated Drive, Compression and Envelope/Wah controls, which make it possible to move seamlessly from tight rhythmic stabs and muted funk grooves to expressive lead sounds, all while remaining true to the unmistakable character of the original instrument. Rhodes have also taken the opportunity to build on what was possible with the physical instrument by adding sustain pedal support and pitch bend functionality.

Compatibility Rhodes Clav Pro is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 11 and above. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
