El Consejo de Direcci n de los Premios Platino del Cine Iberoamericano ha anunciado los preseleccionados, de entre los 23 pa ses en cada una de las 17 categor as en su sexta edici n. Espa a est representada en todas las categor as. The kingdom, de Rodrigo Sorogoyen, presente en 8 categor as, Champions, de Javier Fesser, en 7 y Carmen and Lola, de Arantxa Echevarr a, en 5, son las producciones nacionales que m s candidaturas reciben. La gran gala de entrega se celebrar el 12 de mayo en el Teatro Gran Tlachco del Parque Xcaret (Riviera Maya, M xico)
Por sexto a o consecutivo y como muestra del auge de las filmograf as iberoamericanas, the number of participants has set a new production record con respecto al a o anterior con 928 obras elegibles. De stas, 29 han sido preseleccionadas por Espa a para estar entre las 20 candidatas a nominaciones por categor a, que se dar n a conocer en rueda de prensa el 18 de febrero en Ciudad de M xico. En marzo llegar el momento de conocer las cuatro finalistas de cada apartado.
La gala de entrega repetir sede por primera vez y volver a celebrarse en el Teatro Gran Tlachco en el paradis aco marco del Parque Xcaret (Rivera Maya, M xico). TNT Latinoam rica continuar emitiendo por cable la alfombra roja y ceremonia para todo el continente americano, junto al resto de televisiones nacionales que ofrecer n la gala en abierto.

Television Las producciones para la peque a pantalla comenzaron a ser reconocidas en 2017 con el premio a la Mejor Miniserie o Teleserie Cinematogr fica Iberoamericana y al a o siguiente se incorporaron Mejor Interpretaci n Masculina y Femenina de Miniserie o Teleserie Cinematogr fica Iberoamericana. Los aspirantes a estar entre las cuatro finalistas de estos apartados son Arde Madrid, lite, Fari a and Shame y los int rpretes Paco Le n, Anna Castillo e Inma Cuesta, por Arde Madrid; Malena Alterio y Javier Guti rrez, por Shame; Javier Rey, por Farina y Najwa Nimri, por Vis Vis.
Tras Ciudad de Panam en 2014, Marbella (Espa a) en 2015, Punta del Este (Uruguay) en 2016 y Madrid (Espa a) en 2017, Riviera Maya (M xico) albergar , como ya ocurri en 2018, la gala de entrega de los primeros galardones globales del s ptimo arte iberoamericano que contar n con el patrocinio de Xcaret, Hotel Xcaret M xico y Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. Por su parte, Best Day, ser el encargado de cubrir las necesidades log sticas y de transporte durante toda la Semana Platino.
