Manager: Nonlinear Editing Operations

The Manager of NLE Operations will be responsible for managing all aspects of the digital processing in the business unit. The strategy of the media processing business unit involves the successful and timeous processing of all licensed and commissioned short and long format content required as it arrives.

Management of the content NLE Operations (and workflows)

Continuous process improvement, working with the workflow management team to ensure successful and timeous delivery relating to all customer requirements.

Ensure all media is processed on arrival by managing either the fast lane process or the regular lane process,

Ensure the deadlines are met with regards to the processing lanes.

Effective Vantage and ISIS system capacity management, analysis, planning and infrastructure expansion in relation to current and future stakeholder content requirements.

Regularly engage and consult with workflow management team, system engineers in order to continuously improve operational processes and technical infrastructure.

Effectively manage the NLE Operations team in order to achieve required stakeholder objectives.

Manage overtime according to the allowed budget

Manage the performance and all other related employee maters

Effectively manage the metadata policy through out the value chain.

Allocation of resources in relation to available capacity in order to successfully meet customer requirements.

Generation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, which will guide internal and external operations regarding the various stakeholder content workflows.

Effectively plan and manage all physical and digital file transfer operations.

Effectively plan and manage all ancillary elements such as audio censoring, subtitling, wide screen signaling and hearing impaired.

Manage subtitle archive for future re-use.

Manage a process of metadata and cataloguing as per customer specifications.

Maintain the required content delivery standards.

Management of any new developments impacting on the performance of the NLE business unit.

Manage accurate prepping of media, reporting and resolving ongoing matters

Achieve an ongoing reduction of errors and refining the value chain based on the monthly Error reporting

Manage various processing lanes of processing media which is day and date as well as media which is in license.

Manage the processing of hard drive delivered content from local and international clients

Ensure the onboarding of new studios for file based deliveries

Relevant graduate and/or post-graduate degree in management.

Operational experience within the broadcasting environment.

Knowledge of physical and Digital Transfer technologies and workflows.

Knowledge of operational process improvement concepts.

An excellent understanding of operational workflows within the content broadcasting environment.

An excellent understanding of physical and digital transfer and ingest technologies.

A grounded understanding of the physical and digital transfer and ingest environment.

A grounded understanding of the broadcasting environment

People management experience.
