Is Your Corporation Looking to Support Victims of L.A. Fires? Donate to Sports Broadcasting Fund Today By Ken Kerschbaumer, Editorial Director

The terrible wildfires in Los Angeles are a seminal event that will change the future of Los Angeles forever. But we are already seeing, out of the ashes, stories of inspiration, hope, and giving, whether it be via food for residents (and pets in shelters), clothing for those who lost everything, and of course housing. And for those companies involved with the Sports Video Group, either as a member or sponsor company, there is a way to help the SVG Sports Broadcasting Fund continue to make a difference: by donating today.

In the past few weeks the Sports Broadcasting Fund has done what it does best in a situation like this: respond with help to those in need quickly and proactively. We responded similarly to those in Florida and North Carolina impacted by Hurricanes last fall, offering financial assistance by paying a wide range of bills on behalf of recipients so that they could focus on rebuilding their lives and communities.

The challenge the Sports Broadcasting Fund faces is that clearly the situation in Los Angeles is going to require months, if not years, of on-going support. As a result SVG has set up a dedicated fund whereby all money will be earmarked for those in Los Angeles.

Our goal is to raise more than $200,000 so that we can do more and reach deeper into the Sports Broadcasting community. Already we have distributed more than $100,000 to members of the Sports Broadcasting community (and also those who work for professional sports teams in the area) impacted by the fires in Los Angeles. And we expect those needs to only continue to grow.

So how can your company help? By donating today and resting assured that the money is being put to good use as more than 95% of every donation goes directly to those in need thanks to the volunteer force that keeps the Fund humming.

Step One: Find out if your company has a corporate giving fund.

Step Two: If yes, please tell them to reach out to Carrie Bowden ([email protected]), who is the administrator of the fund and can help them figure out the best way to get a payment to us (checks are preferred as it avoids losing 4% of the donation to a credit card company every penny counts!).

Step Three: Donate yourself using this link and type in LA Fire Fund in the box where you can earmark it for a specific fund or person.
